About

In 2001 and 2003 I was fortunate enough to be selected as part of the ANARE (Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition). I worked and lived in Antarctica for two years – one year on the Antarctic continent base Casey and one year at the Sub-Antarctic Island base Macquarie Island.
This web page will explore what it is like to travel to Antarctica and to live and work there, as well as many insights into the wildlife, weather, Antarctic phenomenon, news and information, many photos and images, and travel hints.
So join me, subscribe to the RSS feed and keep up with all the latest on Antarctica.

Have fun..

  1. Hi there,

My name is Esbjörn, I work at 50 Degrees North in Melbourne. We specialise in travelling to Scandinavia and the polar regions. I recently travelled to Antarctica (with Oceanwide Expeditions). We produced a free iBook, for the iPad, from the trip. If you wanted to have a look, here’s the link:

Feel free to share it with your followers if you like.

Would you mind listing us as well on your directory for Oceanwide – Melbourne?

    Many thanks!
    Esbjorn
